Each artist or architecht sees his work and wishes to convey his message uniquely, so they create or design differently. E.g. Frank Lloyd Wright was obsessed with "harmony in nature" so he harmonized his buildings with the surroundings. On the other hand, modern architecht I.M.Pei like dramatic designs so he contrasts everything with the surrounding. Differences also arise because of different "schools", like some follow Greek architechture, some Roman-Greco etc.
