Hibiscus Plant Care
How can I care for my hibiscus?
2 years ago I planted a small Hibiscus and it seemed to do quite well. Last year some neighbor children drew a good part of it out of the ground, but it has decided to return this spring. It is only about 5 inches tall, but seems very healthy. What type of fertilizer is best to use of a Hibiscus and require any specific type of care?
most likely ur talking about the hardy type! Just give it a balanced fertilizer now and keep it moist throughout the growing season. The hardy hibiscus is also known as "swamp rose ".... so it loves to get wet!

The genus Hibiscus contains over 200 different species. Hibiscus species found in tropical and subtropical and temperate climates. There is a large genus that contains herbs, shrubs and even small trees.
Hibiscus plants are very popular in gardens and flower shows, when plants produce flowers on a stalk incredibly pretty high. You can choose between wide hibiscus variety of colors including the popular red, pink, orange, purple, lavender, yellow and white variants. A hibiscus flower can reach a size of 4-15 cm in diameter and is equipped with five petals. hibiscus leaves are toothed or lobed and dark green tint.
Hibiscus plants will require plenty of light, and most of the species Hibiscus origins of the warmer parts of the world. Most species prefer Hibiscus be planted where temperatures from 60 to 90 degrees F for most of the day. These plants are more stringent than many other species of tropical and subtropical areas and is generally survive at temperatures low enough so long as they are not extended. A cold night, for example, can make the plant loses its leaves and buds, but it will survive and begin to form new leaves and buds. You can keep the Hibiscus plants in areas where temperatures fall below 50 degrees F, but these rare hibiscus flower. When it does flower, flowers usually very small and sometimes seem a little strange. In a cold climate, you should not give too much water your hibiscus because it increases the risk of fungal infections. Temperatures below freezing should be avoided.
If you take care of your Hibiscus, it begins to produce buds. Hibiscus buds are generally large and tight. Unfortunately Hibiscus buds are often attacked by worms and insects that can kill whole bud. When the buds open and begin to flourish, you can protect them from attack by parasites regularly sprayed with water.
You can do the Hibiscus flowers last longer by providing water and protecting the severe heat. heavy rain may affect the hibiscus. If the plant Hibiscus exposed to temperatures above 95 degrees F, can it begin to drop its buds. This can sometimes be avoided by giving your Hibiscus plant plenty of water and create some sort of shadow for her. The plant itself will not be a problem to survive temperatures above 100 degrees F, provided that it is dehydrated.
Pruning your Hibiscus is recommended because the plants tend to produce Hibiscus flowers on their new growth. You can clip the shoots and used in flower arrangements, but usually last no more than 24 hours. If you cut a bud almost open, you can protect it in refrigerator until time to spend it.
hibiscus needs lots of minerals to do well, including manganese, iron and copper. By giving them a kind of flower nutrition or fertilizer a good idea. Ask your florist for instructions specified on your particular soil and species hibiscus.
