Landscape Architecture work in Japan?

I am in Japan for a couple weeks. I used to live here, so I have seen Kyoto gardens and the usual Japanese have stuff. But, I am now a student in landscape architecture and I want to explore more of the contemporary / modern design here in Japan. Does anyone know of anyone specifically designed by lanscape architect or land artists in Tokyo, Saitama, and Kyushu areas?

It may sound crazy, but since nobody else has tried I would. Rent The Karate Kid. Walk right to the credits and see who was the set designer. Search the web and try to contact. I'll bet whoever it is has a lot of contacts here and there. It is best wild guess, I have. Sayonara
